A lot has changed in the plumbing industry in the last 60 years, however, as Watters Plumbing celebrates its 60th anniversary this year, it’s clear that one thing hasn’t changed — our strong commitment to our customers, employees, and Northeast Wisconsin.
We’d like to take a moment to give a big THANK YOU to all the customers and team members who’ve made these past six decades so amazing. Your commitment, hard work, and trust are what keeps us going day after day.
“It’s an honor that people count on us to repair or provide new plumbing in their homes and businesses,” Chris McBrair, our president and CEO, said. “We certainly do not take those invitations for granted and every day being allowed to improve the lives of our customers where they live and work!”
We’re always looking at what’s new for our customers, from more complex plumbing systems and Smart bathroom products to new styles and bathroom remodeling trends, we love looking to the future of plumbing! As we celebrate 60 years of being one of the most recognized plumbing companies in Northeast Wisconsin, it’s important to look back at where we came from, too.
“Our success is because of our clients having faith that we will do what we say we are going to do, when we say we are going to do it,” Chris said. “Most of all, we give thanks to God for teaching us how to be leaders by providing others with kind and courteous services.”
Harold Watters first established Watters Plumbing, Heating, and Oil Company in 1960. The company specialized in plumbing and heating repair services and oil delivery. Fast-forward to 1981, and Harold’s Son, Cal Watters, purchased the plumbing portion of the company, setting the groundwork for what Watters Plumbing would become today.
Since then, Watters Plumbing has continued to grow. We now handle all phases of plumbing, — including commercial and residential installation, bathroom remodeling, new construction, and 24-hour repair services — around the Fox Cities area and Green Bay.
As noted above, we’ve seen all sorts of changes throughout the years, including within our own company and operations.
In 2001, our original building at 1303 Midway Road in Menasha was replaced with a 14,500-square-foot building that includes our corporate offices, warehouses, and our 2,800-square-foot design showroom, turning it into a one-stop-shop for bathroom remodeling projects and beyond. There, customers can see vanities, flooring, hardware, and other innovative bathroom products from top brands like Kohler, Delta, and Toto.
In 2016, Chris became the proud new owner of Watters Plumbing after Cal retired. Chris has worked hard to push Watters even further into the digital age — focusing on new technologies and products that improve customer service, employee engagement, and project efficiency.
“In our industry, it is crucial we stay current so that we can continue to provide the excellent customer service that our long-time customers have come to expect from our team of professionals,” he said.
Even now, 60 years after we opened, Watters still values a strong work ethic, customer service, and community involvement. Through partnerships with Bell Electric and other community organizations like the Fox Cities Performing Arts Center and Midwest Sunsplash, we continue building relationships around the Fox Cities and beyond.
Due to social distancing and stay at home orders, we’re celebrating this milestone a little differently than we planned. No parties, customer appreciation events, or employee celebrations — at least right now. However, we take our position as an essential business very seriously. We’re working hard to provide excellent service during this time and we look forward to whatever the future holds!
Cheers to 60 years — and many more!
Sincerely,
The Watters Plumbing Team
